The Great Wall of China is deemed to be one of the seven great wonders of the world. Truly majestic and covering a great land area, the wall spans over 5,500 miles. It was built during the Ming Dynasty with Earth or Taipa, stones and wood that stretches from east to west of China. Today, some of the parts of the great wall are in ruins and some even disappeared. Access for tourists. The Great Wall of China could be accessed from several sections of the wall, but the most famous of these is the Badaling section, which was one of the earliest access points that became open to tourists. You could take a bus from Beijing to reach the Badaling section of the wall. The Great Wall runs along the eastern area with the Yalu River and ends in the western area at Jiayuguan Pass. It crosses the provinces in all its wonder, with the provinces of Liaoning, Hebei, Beijing and some others included.

The horror stories. Once you get to the Great Wall of China, you are sure to hear of gruesome stories about its construction. Many people died while building the wall and majority of them were even interred between the spaces. What is more fascinating is that the Chinese themselves were said to approve burying their dead in the walls because of several reasons, one being that the dead could guard the wall from malevolent spirits.

Its main purpose. The wall is deemed to be one of the greatest military defenses ever built at the time that construction had to be done with bare hands and no machinery.
